Special Guest Coach--Olympian Sharon Donnelly!
On Friday, April 10, 4:00-5:30pm at Brewer Pool, Olympian Sharon Donnelly will be sharing all her open water swimming secrets with us!
Sharon spent her early sport days as a swimmer and competed at the National level, as well as the 1988 Olympic Trials, where she placed third in the 100 Butterfly. After high school, she attended the Royal Military College, and, upon graduating, served as an Army Logistics Officer for 5 years. An avid runner, cyclist and cross country skiier, she discovered her love of triathlon while working with the military. She competed for Canada in the first Olympic Triathlon event, along with Canadian Simon Whitfield in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Sharon was recruited to coach the US National Triathlon team in Colorado Springs after retiring from competing, and was the National Assistant Coach for the 2008 US Olympic Team. She is always active--swimming, biking, working as ski patrol at Camp Fortune, and spent part of last summer paddling from Kingston to Ottawa.
We are delighted to welcome her to Swim Ottawa for a special event!
This no-charge event is open to all AG and SR groups. Please register before April 8.
